MetOcean Telematics to Deliver Next-Generation Satellite Broadband Solutions
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (June 7, 2018) MetOcean Telematics has signed an agreement with Iridium Communications Inc. to become a land and maritime-mobile service provider for its next-generation satellite broadband technology, Iridium Certus. This agreement will allow MetOcean Telematics to provide its clients with enterprise-grade broadband functionality using the only truly global communications solution.
Iridium Certus will be commercially available in the next few months, providing initial speeds of 352 Kbps that will eventually reach up to 1.4 Mbps. It will be powered by Iridium NEXT, a next-generation $3 billion satellite constellation that will provide higher quality voice and enterprise-grade broadband functionality.
