MetOcean Telematics Launches STREAM1 & STREAM1 OEM: Smart, Scalable Iridium IoT Connectivity
Dartmouth, NS – June 18, 2025 – MetOcean Telematics® is excited to announce the launch of the STREAM™1 and STREAM™1 OEM, the newest additions to our Iridium® IoT product portfolio. Introduced under a new name to mark the beginning of a powerful product evolution, these compact, flexible devices are built around the next-generation Iridium Certus™ 9704 transceiver, offering developers and integrators an advanced satellite communication solution that’s efficient, adaptable, and ready for real-world deployment.
Leveraging the new Iridium Messaging Transport® (IMT®) protocol, STREAM1 supports larger payloads, reduced latency, and lower power consumption – without sacrificing global reach. IMT allows messages of up to 100 KB and supports faster, cloud-based data delivery using modern JSON formatting. This gives users the ability to transmit richer data sets like images, audio clips, and aggregated sensor reports, all while drawing significantly less power in standby compared to legacy devices.
The STREAM1 is a fully enclosed device suited for field deployment, while the STREAM1 OEM provides a flexible platform for integration into custom systems. Both models are easily integrated and designed for efficient setup, enabling a wide range of remote applications across industries
