The Polar iSVP is an expendable, low-cost, bidirectional Iridium communications spherical buoy. MetOcean Telematics developed the Polar iSVP to meet the demanding needs of the offshore oil industry, ocean freight industry, and the oceanographic scientific community.
The Polar iSVP was designed specifically to track and monitor ice floe movement, providing the user with essential real-time GPS positional data and sea surface temperature and optional barometric pressure.
