Account Manager (Security) | Dartmouth

Location: Dartmouth, NS (Burnside)
Type of employment: Full-time

About the Role
Reporting to our Director of Sales (Security), you will be working with innovative global security solutions designed for locating, tracking, and detecting valuable assets via Iridium, GPS, and RF for domestic and international Law Enforcement, Government, and Military agencies, as well as commercial customers. You will be an integral member of the overall sales team, providing revenue generation through contact with both existing and new customers, and value-added resellers (VARs).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieve revenue goals as agreed with Manager
  • Generate sales leads for the Business Development Managers
  • Source/qualify new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-ups
  • Act as a product subject matter expert for customers
  • Through web sessions, develop and initiate customer seminars so that both VARs as well as end users can stay informed and up to date
  • Source/qualify new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-ups
  • Contact installed base end users of products and potential new customers to:
  • Solicit orders for equipment, upgrades and maintenance services;
  • Provide customer knowledge on products and services;
  • Understand customer satisfaction levels by conducting brief surveys by phone/internet; and
  • Arrange web-based customer sessions to showcase products and offerings
  • Assist in maintaining Salesforce client and account contact information
  • Work closely with other departments to create and maintain a proper customer database
  • Maintain accurate records within Salesforce CRM
  • Attend exhibitions and tradeshows, including internationally ones, as needed to engage with existing and potential customers

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, business administration, or background in electronics or engineering
  • 2-3 years of experience in an inside sales or account manager role, or at least 3 years’ experience in the technical sales engagement process (either through direct selling, marketing, or pre-sales)
  • Self-sufficient, passionate, and confident in inside sales with a strong sense of customer service
  • Proven ability to interface directly with customers and VARs, keeping abreast satisfaction levels
  • Excellent ability to learn and demonstrate the full breadth of MetOcean’s products and solutions
  • Understanding of selling strategies, including selling solutions and problem resolution, and the ability to identify customer needs
  • Demonstrated experience closing sales deals and generating revenue
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Must be capable of obtaining Government Security Clearance, which includes 3 years of reference checks
